THE PONDS

About the Ponds of Brookfield

**1995**: The dream of creating the Ponds of Brookfield was born out of a passion for youth team sports and the desire to have fun with real estate by local businessman Rob Perry. The goal was to establish a first-class facility in the Milwaukee metro area that combined learning through sports with a creative business approach.

**July 15, 1998**: The Ponds of Brookfield officially opened its doors, bringing to life a cutting-edge venue for hockey and ice sports. The facility quickly gained a reputation for offering unique programming and partnerships that set it apart from other arenas in the region.

**June 2008**: A massive renovation took place, upgrading the facility with new dasher boards, seamless glass, improved lighting, a modern sound system, and a new dehumidification system. These enhancements elevated the arena’s game-day experience.

**December 2008**: A new ice resurfacer was added, continuing the investment in top-notch equipment to maintain high-quality ice conditions.

**2017**: A new floor system was installed, significantly improving the quality of the ice sheet and allowing for greater flexibility during seasonal transitions.

**August 2019**: The arena’s atmosphere was further enhanced when renowned 3D anamorphic artist Leon Keer traveled from the Netherlands to create a unique artistic setting within the building, adding a cultural and aesthetic touch to the Ponds.

**May 2020**: The installation of a state-of-the-art chiller package ensured year-round ice excellence, giving the Ponds even better control over ice quality and temperature stability.

**2021**: Greg Copeland took over ownership of the Ponds of Brookfield in September of 2021, continuing to uphold the legacy of innovation and community engagement. Under Greg’s leadership, the arena remains a hub for youth and adult hockey, including hosting the UW-Milwaukee and Marquette University ACHA teams, the Elmbrook Youth Hockey Association, and the Brookfield Stars and Glacier high school teams.

**Today**: The Ponds continues to lead in the ice arena industry, offering creative programming, unique experiences, and maintaining its commitment to enhancing the hockey and ice sports experience for all who walk through its doors.

This timeline showcases the evolution of the Ponds, reflecting its growth from an innovative vision by Rob Perry into today’s premier ice sports facility located in Brookfield, WI.
